BMZ (Bryansk Machine-Building Plant) moves to Transmashholding’s unified engineering platform
The Bryansk Machine-Building Plant (Transmashholding Group) has taken a new step in digitizing manufacturing processes by moving to Transmashholding’s unified engineering platform. BMZ is the fifth plant to have transferred its data from the local information system to TMH’s Unified Enterprise Information System.
The unified engineering platform of Transmashholding is an information system that gathers data on all numerical models of the machined products of all the holding’s companies. This integration allows the coordination of the activity of designing the parts and their manufacturing, as well as the quality control of the machined parts at the level of each company and at the level of the holding company in general. The main and important advantages of TMH’s unified engineering platform are the possibility of formulating new design and technology basics unique for all Transmashholding companies; it also means the sharing of experiences between TMH companies in the field of study and technology documentation in digital form; the reduction of the time of searching in the electronic system for any necessary information on machined parts. This makes it possible to considerably reduce manufacturing times, while increasing quality and reducing costs over the entire life cycle.
Elena Bulytcheva, head of the office for computer-aided design (CAD) systems in BMZ’s Information Technology Department points out :
— The Unified Engineering Platform allows online monitoring of all changes in design and technology documentation and their validation stage: at what stage is it, are the deadlines for completion or validation of a document being met? By coming to the workshop, the method engineer no longer needs to bring dozens of cumbersome technical drawings with him or search for them in the archives. Everything is at hand in his portable or fixed device which is directly on the production site.
BMZ’s planning, processing and execution departments are already connected to the unified engineering platform. It is extremely important that BMZ has obtained the possibility of immediate online access at any time to all the necessary documentation of the other companies in the holding company that are already connected to the platform.
The Bryansk Machine-Building Plant resumed work in full in the middle of April, complying with all the necessary measures to stop the spread of Covid-19 recommended by the Russian public authorities.
