DMZ manufactured its 10,000th electric car
The Demikhovsky Machine Building Plant (DMZ, part of Transmashholding chaired by Andrey Bokarev) produced the 10,000th electric car in its history.
It is the leading car of the EP2D direct current electric train No. 0135 manufactured for the Russian Railways (RJD). The General Director of DMZ Artem Ovelyan congratulated in a solemn atmosphere the workers of the plant with this historic event for the company, each division received memorable gifts.
The first electric commuter train car was designed and manufactured at DMZ exactly 28 years ago – in December 1992. To date, the company has developed 22 models of rolling stock. Every year DMZ produces up to 500 DC and AC train carriages, confirming its status as the largest manufacturer of electric trains in Russia and CIS countries.
Modern models of DMZ trains – direct current EP2D and alternating current EP3D – are operated on practically all railways in Russia, as well as in Armenia and Kazakhstan. The main consumers of the plant’s products are JSC Central Suburban Passenger Company and Russian Railways (RJD).
