Rustam Minnikhanov met the president of Transmashholding, Andrey Bokarev.
President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov today met with the Chairman of Transmashholding SA Andrey Bokarev.
The meeting took place at the House of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan – Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert M. Karimov, Minister of Transport and Highways of Tatarstan Lenar Safine, Director of the Investment Development Agency of Tatarstan Talia Minullina, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metishin, and by video-conference the representatives of the administrations of the cities of Nizhnekamsk and Naberejnye Chelny.
The participants of the meeting discussed the modernization of the rolling stock of the Kazan Metropolitan and the possibility of operating unmanned trains.
The organization of unmanned traffic in the Kazan metro was presented by Transmashholding Executive Director Andrey Romanchikov. Unmanned traffic in the metro contributes to the development of energy-efficient technologies and is passenger-oriented, while all piloting is carried out by radio.
During the meeting, it was noted that Transmashholding has been collaborating with the Kazan Metropolitan since 2011. Almost 60% of the rolling stock is manufactured in Russia – by Transmashholding.
Rustam Minnikhanov approved the idea of the transition of the Kazan Metropolitan to the autonomous (unmanned) system. “It is an attractive idea. The automation of processes ensures more reliable operation. We can combine our efforts to develop and implement unmanned traffic”.
Rustam Minnikhanov has commissioned a working group to study this issue in more detail. This group will be composed of representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Public Roads of the Republic, the municipal unitary company “Metroelectrotrans”, the executive committee of the city of Kazan and Transmashholding.
In addition, the project for the development of municipal public transport in the agglomerations was presented at the same meeting. The project was presented by Mikhail Khromov, a member of the Transmashholding board of directors, within the framework of the project of the federal program of support for the integrated development of public transport in Russian cities. This project of the program was developed by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation together with Vnesheconombank (Development Bank of the Russian Federation).
