The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation gave the order to launch the new Vostochny Port Railway Park JSC
The largest Russian company specializing in technological coal stevedoring and transhipment – “Vostochny Port” JSC – announces the launch of the “Novyi” (New) railway fleet for freight trains built within the framework of the modernization of the Nakhodka-Vostochnaya port station of the Far Eastern Railway. The order to receive the first coal train from the Kuzbass was given by the Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The solemn ceremony alongside the Prime Minister was attended by the businessman Andrey Bokarev, president of Transmashholding group, specialized in the manufacture of railway equipment. The ceremony dedicated to this emblematic event took place in the “Novyi” railway park in Moscow within the framework of the XIV International Forum “Transport of Russia”.
Novyi Railway Park is the most modern railway park in the Russian Far East and was built using the latest technical solutions. It consists of 12 electrified railway tracks with a total length of 19 km. The points and signals are equipped with microprocessor-controlled centralization and are managed from a single control station. The tracks are equipped with an electric heating system to ensure continuous work even in periods of low temperatures. The implementation of the “Novyi” park marks the completion of the modernization of the “last kilometer” of the Trans-Siberian Railway – from the port station Nakhodka-Vostochnaya – one of the most important nodes of the railway infrastructure of the Russian Far East. Within the framework of the modernization carried out in 2019 the Vostochny Port JSC Company has built the “B” railway park. It consists of five electrified railroads with a total length of 7.3 km which were transferred to the Russian Railways (RJD) free of charge for the joint use of all companies of the Wrangel Bay industrial park.
The project for the construction of the railway parks is carried out by the private investor “Vostochny Port” JSC and is based on the principles of public-private partnership with Russian Railways (RJD) within the framework of the Russian transport strategy carried out under the aegis of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. The new railway infrastructure will allow to fully load the new capacities of the largest Russian specialized coal terminal “Vostochny Port” JSC up to 55 million tons per year, as well as to solve the problem of “narrow” places of the Far Eastern Railway by increasing the capacity of the port station Nakhodka-Vostochnaya by 25 million tons and optimizing the technologies of working with rolling stock.
The construction of new capacities of the station combines the programs of federal and international importance carried out by the state and private enterprises aimed at increasing the traffic capacity of the Eastern Polygon of Russian Railways and the construction of new seaports in Eastern Russia. The project was implemented within the framework of the instructions of the Russian President on the development of the transport infrastructure and the increase of the country’s export potential.
