TMH and the Government of the Tver region sign a cooperation agreement for the modernisation of public transport
The document was signed by the President of Transmashholding Andrey Bokarev and the Governor of the Tver region Igor Rudenia.
The parties agreed to develop passenger traffic on the territory through the digitization of the passenger transport sector and the development of transport infrastructure, including the renewal of the rolling stock fleet. One of the main objectives of this venture is to increase the investment attractiveness of the Tver region. The agreement was signed for a period of five years.
One of the largest TMH companies – Tver Carriage Works (TVZ), which specializes in the production of passenger cars for locomotives and electric trains (including Ivolga trains), is located on the territory of the Tver region, and has extensive experience in the production of modern trams.
“We are starting to implement a new transport model on the territory, spanning 4 other urban agglomerations of our region. This year we also plan to implement the project of modernization of tram traffic in the city of Tver. Transmashholding has had successful experience in participating in similar projects on the basis of commercial concession agreements. The holding’s companies, including those in the Tver region, are now manufacturing the latest generation of comfortable and energy-efficient trams and will also renovate the tram tracks in the city of Tver and completely renew the rolling stock fleet“, said the governor, Igor Rudenia.
“Transmashholding, its subsidiaries and the companies associated with the holding company have a lot of successful experience in carrying out this type of projects related to the modernization of urban transport“, said Andrey Bokarev, President of Transmashholding and member of the Board of the Central Council of the Union of Mechanical Manufacturers of Russia.
TMH provides metropolitan areas in Russia, other CIS countries and Eastern Europe with modern and reliable rolling stock. We have also carried out a major project to renew the Moscow tram fleet and organise its maintenance. Within the holding company there is also a company that develops signalling devices for public transport. All this will allow us to modernise the public transport system of the city of Tver to the highest level of quality. We will approach its implementation with a special responsibility, as this is also the location of one of the most important companies of our holding and home to tens of thousands of employees and veterans of the TVZ plant. The success of this project will also improve the quality of life of our colleagues, their families and relatives“, added Andrey Bokarev.
