TMH sent two TEM18DM diesel shunting locomotives to Mongolia

The Bryansk Machine-Building Plant (BMZ which is part of Transmashholding, TMH) delivered two TEM18DM diesel shunting locomotives to Mongolia.

This delivery was made under the terms of the contract signed in 2019 for a period of two years. Under this contract, the Russian plant is to deliver 10 TEM18DM diesel locomotives and 14 2TE25KM diesel locomotives to Mongolia.

This rolling stock is destined for Ulaanbaatar Railways where 14 TEM18DM shunting diesel locomotives and 15 2TE25KM mainline freight locomotives are already in operation. The TEM18DM diesel shunting locomotives have been operating in Mongolia since 2011. The company has been manufacturing TEM18DM diesel locomotives since 2008. Today in Russia and abroad there are more than 1500 locomotives of this series in operation. They are used not only on public railway networks, but also in industrial companies that have their own rolling stock.

New modifications of the TEM18DM diesel locomotive have been developed to widen their scope of application and increase their working efficiency. There are a total of six modifications of these locomotives. Bryansk Machine-Building Plant manufactures diesel locomotives and freight cars. Transmashholding is one of the largest manufacturers of rolling stock for railways in Russia. The companies of the group are located in St. Petersburg, Bryansk, Penza, Tver, Moscow, Rostov and Saratov regions, as well as in Switzerland, Hungary, Argentina, South Africa and Egypt.
