TMH will manufacture 40 metro cars for Tashkent metro by the end of 2021
Metrowagonmash (MWM, part of Transmashholding) and Tashkent Metropolitan have signed a contract for the production and delivery of 40 metro cars of series 81-765.5 / 766.5 / 767.5 for the capital of Uzbekistan. The rolling stock is expected to be manufactured and delivered to the customer by the end of the year.
The contract is realized through a credit granted by the state enterprise VEB.RF and JSC “ROSEKSIMBANK”.
According to the terms of the contract, each metro train will consist of two motorized lead cars, one motorized intermediate car and one non-motorized intermediate car. This means that there will be 10 metro trains with four cars each.
The 81-765.5/766.5/767.5 metro cars will be equipped with continuous passageways and 1.4 meter wide doors. The front cars will have special seats for people with reduced mobility. Each car will be equipped with touch screens with interactive metro maps that will allow users to plot their route and see how long their journey will take. The trains will also be equipped with video surveillance systems, air conditioning and air disinfection systems.
The rolling stock will be equipped with asynchronous electric traction motors. The nominal speed of the trains is 90 km/h. The service life of the metro cars and bogie frames is 30 years. The windshield of the driver’s cabin will be equipped with a manual sunshield, which is important considering the peculiarities of Tashkent metro – part of its lines runs on the surface.
Currently Tashkent Metro operates 5 trainsets of the model 81-765,5 / 766,5 / 767,5, which will be purchased in 2019. The same type of trainsets are operated in Moscow, Kazan and Baku metros.
Metrowagonmash and Tashkent metro have been working together since 1977.
