Transmashholding will contribute to the creation of a mechanical engineering cluster in Tver.
The Union of Mechanical Engineering Manufacturers of Russia, Transmashholding SA (chaired by Andrey Bokarev) and the Government of the Tver region have just signed an agreement to develop cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering industries in Russia.
This joint work foresees the creation and development of a pole of mechanical engineering industries including industrial enterprises of the region, scientific research organizations, educational structures and associations from other regions of Russia.
This initiative will contribute to the economic dynamism of the Tver region, which will soon be home to new-generation industrial parks, a technology park for mechanical transport industries, commercial infrastructure facilities, exhibition areas, offices and business centres.
These combined actions also aim to support the development of various centres throughout the region: marketing, technology transfer, engineering, industrial design and scientific research centres, as well as laboratories and secondary, vocational and higher education establishments specialising in the mechanical transport industry.
“The measures taken today will contribute to the opening up of certain regions of the Russian Federation and will allow us to start developing more actively our export activities to our customers in Eastern Europe and North Africa, mainly in the passenger car sector. I hope that TVZ will very soon establish itself as a leader in the fields of engineering and production, as the plant is already a flagship of the passenger car manufacturing industry not only in Russia but also worldwide,”
says Kirill Lipa, Managing Director of Transmashholding.
“The Tver region is a leading hub for the development of Russia’s mechanical transport industries. By the end of 2018, the industrial production index in this field had exceeded 150%. In the first 9 months of 2019, the volume of goods shipped in this activity amounted to more than 60 billion, reaching almost 96% of the index for the year 2018. The creation of an industrial cluster in the Tver region will mark the beginning of a new era in the development of mechanical transport industries. The creation of this cluster will also be supported by a series of extensive measures to support the region’s industry, including tax incentives, low-interest loans, and the creation of the necessary infrastructure,”
says the Governor of the Tver region, Igor Rudenya, who also points out that a working group has already been set up and has already established a work program for the next five years.
