Andrey (or Andrei) Bokarev is an influential businessman and a major figure in the Russian economic life. He is President of Transmashholding (TMH), the leading manufacturer of railway equipment in Russia and supplier to the Russian rail transport operator RZD.

Career
Born in Moscow on 23 October 1966, Andrey Bokarev graduated from the Moscow Institute of Finance in 1990. He then held various management positions in private companies. His brilliant career as a manager will really take off in 1998,when Andrey Bokarev will start holding numerous responsibilities within the companies of the UMMC group (Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company) founded and chaired by Iskander Makhmudov.
He debuted at Kuzbassrazrezugol, one of Russia’s largest coal mining companies, where he was Deputy Managing Director until 1999, at which time he became Chairman of the Board of Directors – a position he has held ever since. In 2000, he also became a member of the UMMC Board of Directors before joining the boards of Rosterminalugol (a coal port company) and Transmashholding in 2004.
This career path has allowed Andrey Bokarev to become a recognised player within the Russian industry. In 2006, he also joined the Executive Board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), and in 2007 became President of the Coordinating Council of Associations of RSPP of the Siberian Federal District. Today, as a member of the Association du Dialogue Franco-Russe, Andrey Bokarev actively works towards bringing the two countries closer together.
In just a few years, Andrey Bokarev made Transmashholding a leading company in Russia and abroad.

A growing influence, both in Russia and internationally
The year 2008 thus marks a major turning point in Andrey Bokarev’s career, following his appointment as President of Transmashholding. First representative and promoter of one of the greatest jewels in the Russian industry, he is also recognised as a brilliant and acute entrepreneur. His name is often associated with major Russian diplomatic and economic summits.
Sports
Andrey Bokarev is actively involved in the development of sport in Russia. Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation on the development of physical culture and sport and member of the Russian Olympic Executive Committee. A ski enthusiast, he was President of the Russian Alpine Ski and Snowboard Federation from 2006 to 2010 and President of the Russian Ski Association from 2010 to 2020. He is currently President of the Russian Freestyle Ski Federation and is also a member of the Board of the International Ski Federation.
Philanthropy and honours
A recognised philanthropist in Russia, Andrey Bokarev donated more than €14.6 million to various charities in 2018 through Transmashholding SA. For his entire career and his actions on behalf of others, Andrey Bokarev has been awarded several medals, including that of the National Order of the Legion of Honour in France. He is also appointed Honorary Mechanical Construction Worker of the Russian Federation on an honorary basis.
